History
After being introduced by a mutual acquaintance in 2001 Field2Base co-founders David Lea and Ed Holloway began to discuss potential new business opportunities. Ed was an expert in tablet PC technologies and had a strong technical background. David was a sales veteran in the technology industry and had experience with technology start-ups.
After formulating the basic premise of automating the flow of paper from the field, Ed and David tirelessly met with over 100 companies to refine and focus their business plan. They formed Field2Base in 2002 with focus on the construction industry and immediately began to pitch their solution to their contacts in the AEC community. While David reached out to his contacts in the industry and refined the business plan, Ed, with great vision, began developing the software.
Ed and David self supported their efforts until a fortuitous meeting occurred between David and his neighbor, Ed White. Ed was a commercial real estate developer who had previously built from the ground up and sold a very successful software company. Ed knew what it took to build a successful company and instantly saw that David and Ed H. were on to a great idea. After much due diligence Ed decided to invest in Field2Base.
Today, Field2Base is a growing software firm with costumers in Hawaii, New York, Florida and everywhere in-between. Additional investments by Ed White and other private investors have allowed Field2Base to grow substantially. While the construction industry is still a focus, Field2Base' customer base is becoming more and more diverse. Field2Base now claims engineers, insurance firms, field sales, inspection firms, and manufacturing firms as clients. New opportunities exist in the retail market, utilities and with governmental agencies.
