The Company

In 2002 co-founders David Lea and Ed Holloway joined forces to launch a company that would automate the flow of paperwork from the field. Together, they tirelessly met with over 100 companies to refine and focus their plan. While David reached out to his contacts in the industry, Ed, with great vision, began developing the software. David introduced the Field2Base concept to software company mogul Ed White who immediately realized its potential and, after much due diligence, invested in Field2Base.

Today, Field2Base is a growing software firm with a customer base that expands far beyond the construction industry and across the nation.

 Our Products

Field2Base provides software products designed specifically for use on Tablet PCs. We leverage wireless communications, digital photography, and the Tablet PC to provide an overall mobile workforce solution for field professionals. As such our software is designed as a field communications tool not a specific application designed to meet a specific need. We focus our software around ease of use and managed communications that shield the user from wireless data interceptions. We currently have upwards of 50 patents pending in these two areas. Our two main products include Forms2Base and Field2Base.

The Tablet PC is our preferred platform because it is the ultimate mobile computing device. Unlike PDAs and other Pocket PC devices, Tablet PCs are fully functioning computers running a full Windows XP operating system. Tablet PCs are built to similar specifications as laptop computers and can serve as the field user's only computing device. Tablet PCs run all familiar Microsoft Office programs and are usually compatible with any third party software running on the Windows XP platform. Tablet PCs allow users to enter data with a standard keyboard but offer the additional capability to accomplish all data input with a special, digital pen. This is especially beneficial to field personnel who are always on the go. From Field2Base's perspective, field personnel can be described as anyone not able to type because of their need to be mobile.

Tablet PCs are starting to become more common place. They have especially found a niche in insurance, medical and education sectors. Field2Base is one of the few software vendors who has designed and built from scratch an application designed specifically for Tablet PCs. For this reason, Field2Base has been recognized as an official Microsoft Tablet PC Partner. Field2Base's unique approach to build our solution with the field person in mind has allowed us to help drive the success of Tablet PCs into exciting new industries like construction, engineering, inspections, field sales and others.
