Ed White - Chairman of The Board
In 1980, after working for Westinghouse for 10 years, Ed White founded Utility Translation Systems, Inc. (UTS), a very successful software company headquartered in Raleigh, NC. In 1996 he sold UTS to Itron, Inc. He served as Itron's Chairman of the Board until retiring in 2003 and has remained a frequent speaker at industry conferences throughout the world. Ed is a graduate of the North Carolina State University School of Engineering and is president of the NCSU's Engineering Foundation's Board of Directors. He is also a member of and past Chairman of the Board of Directors of Morrisville, North Carolina's Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of the board of directors for eMeter (San Francisco), Stewart Engineering (Raleigh), and American Institute of Health and Fitness (Raleigh).
Kyle O'Brien - CEO, Board Member
Kyle O'Brien has an extensive background in wireless communications and business development activities on a global basis. Prior to joining Field2Base, Kyle held a number of senior positions with AirTouch Communications-the world's largest wireless company prior to its sale to Verizon/Vodaphone. At AirTouch, Kyle was primarily focused on International markets. He has held both business development and operational roles. His last assignment at AirTouch prior to its sale was responsibilities for Asian Operations. After the sale of AirTouch, Kyle spent time with his young family and private technology investing. Kyle is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and has a Masters in Business Administration from Columbia University.
David Lea - President, Co-Founder and Board Member
David Lea has been involved in technology for over 35 years with experience from start-ups to multi-billion dollar international organizations. He spent 20+ years with Memorex Telex and its predecessor companies in sales, sales management and marketing and ultimately as head of worldwide marketing. He was a founder of the first commercial travel site on the Internet, PCTravel. Immediately prior to joining Field2Base as a co-founder, he was acting CEO of Cambar Software, a supply chain software provider.
Robert McKenzie - Chief Financial Officer
Robert McKenzie is an entrepreneurial CFO with over 20 years of financial leadership experience. Prior to Field2Base, he was co-founder of Rankin|McKenzie, LLC, a financial management firm specializing in interim and outsourced Chief Financial Officer, controller, and accountant services to companies in the Research Triangle Park Area. Robert has served as CFO for a number of dynamic companies including CipherOptics, Drug Safety Alliance, Inc., Bloodhound, Inc., TekSell.com, Inc., and CLG, Inc. Additionally, Robert held a number of management positions with Wachovia and BB&T during the eleven years prior to joining CLG, Inc. Robert received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics, magna cum laude, from Wofford College, and his Master's Degree in Business Administration with Distinction from Wake Forest University. He is a licensed CPA in North Carolina.
Charles Herkowitz – VP, Technology
Charles Herskowitz has more than 17 years of experience in networking and telecommunications engineering and design. He has extensive entrepreneurial experience in start-up companies, complimented by the discipline driven in larger organizations. Prior to joining Field2Base, Mr. Herskowitz served as Chief Technical Officer for Equitel, Inc. ensuring that the company developed leading edge solutions in the rapidly changing telecommunications marketplace. In this role Charles was also responsible for building ePRIME, the company’s automated cellular activation system and the integration of new platforms into the Company's technology set. Previously, he was the System Engineer for ReadyCom Inc., based in Chapel Hill, N.C., where he was responsible for design, integration and deployment of one of the nation's first systems for voice paging over the cellular network. Mr. Herskowitz also has served as Senior Software Engineer for IBM and Seagate Software on several large-scale network management applications
with global development teams and distribution efforts. He was Chief Architect for Onion Peel Software where he led the development team for the company's entire software product line. He holds a BA degree in computer science from New York University.
Chip Brown – Director of Major Accounts
Chip Brown is the Director of Major Accounts for Field2Base. Since joining Field2Base in early 2005, Chip has participated in most of Field2Base’s key client initiatives including sales, account management and client deployment activities. Chip’s responsibilities include managing the largest Field2Base current accounts and managing the sales process for significant new Field2Base opportunities. Chip has been a key liaison between clients and Field2Base Development to insure Field2Base product evolution continues to match market needs. Prior to Field2Base, Chip spent over 10 years with Cameron & Barkley (now Hagemeyer) as a Senior Account Executive for one of the largest electrical distributors in the U.S. At Hagemeyer, Chip won numerous sales awards including multiple President’s Club citations. Chip is a graduate of Elon College.
Matthew Lockridge – Director of Enterprise Sales
Matthew Lockridge has been involved with developing technology strategies and programs for the Federal Government and Fortune 500 companies for over 15 years. In 1999, Mathew worked on several top secret IT initiatives for the Undersecretary of Defense, including the development of a secure global conferencing system for The Pentagon. Upon project completion, Matthew continued to work as an IT consultant with Booz Allen and Hamilton until relocating to South Carolina with Verizon Wireless. He spent the next 7 years at Verizon Wireless developing an emerging mobile data sales channel. During his tenure at Verizon, Matthew’s team was responsible for growing wireless data revenue at Verizon Wireless (in the south area alone) from $600,000 in 2001 to over $1.2 billion in 2007. Matthew has received numerous government and private sector service awards and has been the key note speaker at technology conferences throughout the Southeast. The Citadel in Charleston, SC and is also a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer.
