David Lea has been involved in technology for over 35 years with experience from start-ups to multi-billion dollar international organizations. He spent 20+ years with Memorex Telex and its predecessor companies in sales, sales management and marketing and ultimately as head of worldwide marketing. He was a founder of the first commercial travel site on the Internet, PCTravel. Immediately prior to joining Field2Base as a co-founder, he was acting CEO of Cambar Software, a supply chain software provider.
Tom Mann’s career spans more than 35 years with both the General Electric Company and Genworth Financial. Tom was Executive Vice President – Genworth with responsibility for the Company’s International Segment, which is primarily focused on offering Mortgage Insurance and Lifestyle Protection products in countries outside of the US. From April, 1996 until January, 2009, Tom also had responsibility for US Mortgage Insurance. Tom was a member of the GE leadership team that completed the initial public offering in May, 2004 that resulted in the creation of Genworth Financial.
Tom’s previous roles with GE included Vice President of GE Capital and General Manager of Vendor Financial Services from March, 1990 to April, 1996; Executive Vice President – Operations of GE Capital Mortgage from August, 1986 to March, 1990; Manager – Finance Operations at GE Capital’s Real Estate Financial Services Division from November 1984 to August, 1986. In addition, Tom served in various capacities as a member of GE’s Corporate Audit Staff, following completion of GE’s Financial Management Program (FMP) in 1975.
Tom received a B.S. degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a member of the Housing Policy Executive Committee, part of the Financial Services Roundtable.
Jim Haworth is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Professional Bull Riders. He leads the day-to-day business of the PBR with oversight of all departments, including operations, finance, marketing, and competition.
Haworth brings almost 30 years of experience in the leadership and implementation of retail operations, merchandising solutions, strategic planning, financial restructuring, information technology and tactical marketing. He joins the PBR after serving in a variety of senior executive positions at leading companies, including most recently Executive Vice President, President of Retail Services and the Transformation Officer for Sears Holding Corporation and its Sears and Kmart units. He previously was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Wal-Mart Stores, Executive Vice President of Operations for Sam’s Club and Chairman, and President & CEO of China’s Lotus Supercenters
Mick Dannin, is the former CEO of the Noël Group and its Operating Companies, was responsible for the performance of the consolidated group and its portfolio companies. Noel Group has manufacturing operations in the US, Europe and Asia.
Mick is an accomplished entrepreneur and has successfully started and operated both manufacturing and service businesses. His broad background, combined with his ability to rapidly identify and improve operational efficiencies, also make him a turnaround specialist. He joined Nomaco in 1991 when his foam extrusion company Maxi Inc. merged into Nomaco and has since then served at varying times as the company’s COO, President and CEO. In early 1997, he transferred to Europe in the capacity of CEO to improve the performance of NMC S.A. After successfully completing his mission, he returned to Nomaco in 2001. He received his business education from Lund, Sweden.
Chris Smith joined Grady-White Boats, shortly after graduating from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 1987. He spent almost ten years learning the business founded by his father, Eddie Smith. Today he is the President of Safe Harbor Family Capital and a Board Member of Grady-White Boats. Fulfilling the tradition of his entrepreneurial grandfather (founder of one of the largest mail order firms in the country) and his father, founder of Grady-White Boats, Chris took a break from the boat company in 1996 to start his own business Chain Reaction which he sold in 2002. At that time he returned to Grady White Boats and has spent the last six years leading the development and management of Safe Harbor Family Capital. Mr. Smith is Board Member of the Eddie and Jo Allison Smith Family Foundation. He is also on the boards of the UNC Children’s Hospital and the Virginia Episcopal School Hospital. Chris has been a competitive bicycle racer since starting his on business Chain Reaction and continues to race for fun and health.
Ed Holloway has over twenty years of experience designing, developing, and managing mission critical enterprise software and integration projects. Prior to co-Founding Field2Base, Mr. Holloway served as the Chief Software Architect and Technology Manager for the State of South Carolina’s Voter Registration and Election System project. Prior to his role with the State of SC, Ed served as a Senior Technical Consultant and Architect for HAHT Commerce. In this role, Ed was responsible for the development and implementation of large-scale e-Commerce and wireless applications that integrated directly to Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and successfully managed and implemented projects for companies such as: Kraft Foods, Metro Goldwyn Mayer (MGM) Studios, Siemens, Dow Chemical, Dow Corning, LAM Research, Medline and Printronix (Hewlett Packard OEM). Ed received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the Western Carolina University.
David Mannheim has been counsel to Field2Base from its inception. He practices in the area of corporate and securities law, including venture capital financings, private placements, strategic partnerships, licensing and contracts. David represents entrepreneurs from early start-ups to public companies. He received both his B.B.A., summa cum laude, and his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia.
